Overview
GPT2Notion is a Chrome extension that helps users save ChatGPT conversations into Notion or export them locally as Markdown backups.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension accesses, why it accesses that information, how data is stored, and what control users have over their information.
What the extension accesses
GPT2Notion may access the following information when the user actively uses the extension:
- the content of the current ChatGPT conversation
- the current ChatGPT page URL and route type
- user-selected extension settings
- Notion authorization data needed to connect the extension to the user's Notion workspace
- local export settings and recent sync history stored inside the extension
The extension is designed to access ChatGPT conversation content only when the user explicitly triggers a save or export action.
Why the extension accesses this information
GPT2Notion accesses data only to provide its core functionality:
- connect the user's Notion account through OAuth
- create or select a Notion destination for saved conversations
- save the current ChatGPT conversation into Notion
- export the current ChatGPT conversation to a local Markdown file
- store extension preferences and recent sync history so the product remains usable between sessions
How data is processed
- the extension reads the current ChatGPT conversation from the active supported page
- the extension converts the conversation into structured content
- if the user selected Notion save, the extension sends that content directly to the Notion API
- if the user selected local export, the extension sends the generated Markdown file, supporting data file, and related assets to the browser download flow
GPT2Notion uses a minimal OAuth broker service only to complete secure Notion authorization token exchange. ChatGPT conversation content is not sent to that broker.
Third-party services
GPT2Notion interacts with third-party services only as needed for the requested user action:
- ChatGPT pages are accessed to read the conversation the user wants to save
- the Notion API is used to create pages and write conversation data into the user's Notion workspace
- a minimal GPT2Notion OAuth broker is used only to complete Notion OAuth token exchange
GPT2Notion does not sell user data and does not use conversation content for advertising.
Storage
GPT2Notion stores limited data in Chrome extension storage, including:
- connection state and selected destination information
- extension settings
- recent sync history
- Notion OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens used for the user's authorized connection
Local export files are stored through the browser downloads flow on the user's device. Depending on the conversation content, local export may save Markdown, supporting JSON data, and related image assets.
Data sharing
GPT2Notion shares data only in the following cases:
- with Notion, when the user explicitly chooses to save a conversation to Notion
- with the browser downloads system, when the user explicitly chooses to export a conversation locally
Outside of those user-triggered actions, GPT2Notion does not share ChatGPT conversation content with the GPT2Notion OAuth broker.
User control
- choosing when to save or export a conversation
- disconnecting the Notion account from the extension
- removing extension data through Chrome's extension management tools
- deleting pages created in Notion
- deleting locally exported files from the device
